The purpose of this project is to develop thinking. Thinking is necessary not only for understanding the world adequately, but also for changing it: for knowing in the end what to really do for doing what is needed.

Developed thinking presupposes relying on the entire previous culture of thought every time when questions and facts related to the case of our interest are considered.

Within the framework of the project, research is conducted on how the production of social life is “arranged”, how it actually “works”, and how it can be really changed in a way that exploitation disappears and society turns into an association of free people who consciously construct their own lives. Translations are being made to make the theoretical heritage of mankind more accessible to representatives of different nations, and to make communication between nations more productive. You can find all of this on our website. In addition, what you could find there is not only the programs of independent study of the theory, but also all the materials necessary for it. Those include videos and specially selected literature on each topic and branch in Russian and English (materials in other languages ​​are expected to be added in the future). Ideally, the literature should be not only read but also discussed with other people who can be found both within your city and among those who watch the channel. A discussion mutually enriches all of its participants by allowing you to see what you read with different eyes, which applies to the materials on all the various topics that are brought up. I will always select self-reading literature for supplementing all the videos on the YouTube channel.

Particular attention will be paid to the History of Philosophy.

The history of philosophy is the history of revolutionary overturns in the way of thinking. It enables us to see the development of the way of thinking itself, and not just of individual thoughts or theories. The history of philosophy does not only records the overturns in thinking – it is also a process of understanding them. In order to move forward, one needs to master what has been done previously – or, as they say, to stand upon the predecessors’ shoulders. To learn how to think, one therefore needs to follow the best examples of how the course of thinking should go. One has to understand the problems mankind once raised and solved, thus developing its ability to think.

This topic is especially acute in our times. Current social environment does not contribute, generally speaking, to moral and intellectual health – far less to learning from life itself. To adapt to an existing state of affairs in society, developed thinking is simply not needed; at the same time, there is no current experience of successful struggle to transform the current state of affairs. There are simply no objective conditions for this. Nevertheless, as mentioned above, the most complex problems of our society require solutions – in both theory and practice – that should be based on the entire culture of thought developed by mankind. To do that, one needs to know this culture well. Otherwise, it may turn out that in the twenty-first century we step upon the same rakes that have long been stepped upon, – or inventing a bicycle with grossly outdated design and a number of irreparable defects, which was therefore sent to a landfill somewhere in the fifth century BC, or maybe in the seventeenth-eighteenth century of our era.

One can’t simply take a textbook with ready-made answers and memorize them. Even if your textbook is the most correct one, the result written in it means nothing without the process that had led to this result. Anything can be inferred from such a textbook – and then a caricature, which can only make people laugh, is guaranteed.

Therefore, we will go, in a condensed form, all the way that mankind has traveled in the process of development of the way of thinking – along the “nodal points”, including all errors and dead-end branches – up to the level necessary for solving modern problems. By doing otherwise, we will inevitably miss something important and will not be able to correctly approach the facts that are of interest to us. We will get acquainted with the problems, by solving which the modern dialectical logic was honed. We will learn how to follow the course of thought, highlight the necessary moments in the movement of thought and their necessary interconnections, and see how questions are posed and contradictions are resolved. We will learn to see the real content of this or that philosophy behind its phraseology.

One could and SHOULD ask me and my comrades questions. But don’t hurry. You need to ask them only in case you have not found the answers in both the videos and the proposed literature – as well as in the search engines and in the discussion with your friends. We will definitely try to answer all such questions.

Your help is needed for this project to work and develop: for new videos to be filmed, for translation activities to expand, for research to be conducted, and for the materials to appear on the web site. Moreover, any such help is for your own interest, as the project is ultimately aimed at social development, while anyone can use its materials. We can be supported in many different ways, including practical work: such work could include distribution of the materials or assistance in their production (video editing, design, translations, translation editing). For example, if you want our materials to be available in your own language, you could translate and voice them.

I hope that our videos and texts will be needed by many people, and that they will really work to achieve the designated goal: the mastery and development of culture of thinking necessary for successful practice of overcoming the existing state of affairs.
